We are actively seeking a dynamic and seasoned Vice President of Capital Markets for a top-tier private homebuilding company with a strong presence in the Midwest and Southeast.

This pivotal role is open to finance, lending, and investment banking professionals with extensive experience in capital markets, especially in banking, equity, mezzanine financing, and vertical construction financing.

The right candidate for this position has the flexibility to be based in any of our client’s active markets, including Atlanta, Nashville, Raleigh, Charlotte, Indianapolis, or Columbus, OH.

This role offers a significant opportunity to influence our client’s growth and success, reporting directly to the ownership team.

Vice President of Capital Markets Objectives

  • Play an integral role in the management team, developing and executing strategic financial plans to align with the company’s growth goals. Focus on crafting innovative strategies for securing funding and equity for both land development and vertical construction.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with banking and financial institutions, equity investors, and other key stakeholders. Act as the primary liaison for all banking and financial partnerships, ensuring the company’s financial objectives are met.
  • Utilize expertise in mezzanine financing to structure deals that optimize the company’s financial position. Regularly explore and secure mezzanine financing options, understanding their critical role in bridging the gap between debt and equity in project financing.
  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of vertical construction projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. This includes regular review and approval of financing requests for construction starts and periodic assessment of budget and timeline deviations.
  • Continuously analyze market trends and pricing strategies to ensure the company’s offerings remain competitive and aligned with market demands. Provide insights and recommendations on pricing and product development based on thorough market analysis.
  • Ensure that all financial dealings adhere to the company’s policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations. Maintain a high standard of integrity and transparency in all financial operations and relationships.
  • Develop and manage programs aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and quality in the company’s financial services. Work towards improving the company’s reputation and buyer acceptance through excellent financial management and customer-oriented strategies.

Vice President of Capital Markets Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree, such as an MBA or a relevant Master’s, is highly advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in capital markets, with a focus on real estate, homebuilding, or a closely related industry. Significant exposure to banking relationships, equity and debt financing, and mezzanine financing is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability in structuring and securing financing for large-scale construction or real estate projects, with specific experience in vertical or new home construction financing.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with financial institutions, investors, and internal stakeholders. Experience in managing a diverse portfolio of banking relationships is essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends, financial data, and investment opportunities. Strong strategic thinking capabilities to guide financial planning and decision-making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information clearly and persuasively to various audiences. Public speaking experience is a plus.
  • Experience in leading and motivating teams, with a focus on achieving financial objectives and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Understanding of and commitment to adhering to ethical standards and regulatory requirements in financial dealings and corporate governance.
  • Willingness to reside in one of the client’s active markets, including Atlanta, Nashville, Raleigh, Charlotte, Indianapolis, or Columbus, OH.
