We are seeking an experienced General Sales Manager to support a private homebuilder operating across multiple divisions. Reporting directly to the Division President, this role will oversee sales and marketing execution across assigned communities and play a key role in driving performance, brand consistency, and customer experience.
The General Sales Manager will lead day-to-day sales and marketing initiatives and work closely with on-site sales teams, designers, and leadership. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with proven experience in residential homebuilding sales, comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution. Compensation, benefits, and long-term growth opportunities are strong.
Candidates located in either Charlotte or Philadelphia with experience at a high-volume homebuilder are preferred.
General Sales Manager Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Lead and support a high-performing sales culture across assigned communities.
- Set individual sales goals and performance expectations for the sales team
- Coach, motivate, and develop sales team members through ongoing training and product education
- Ensure contract compliance, including deposits, pricing approvals, and special terms
- Review contract terms to identify potential risks and resolve issues proactively
- Address and resolve customer concerns to maintain a positive buyer experience
- Prepare and manage monthly competitive market summaries in collaboration with the sales team
Marketing and Community Presentation
- Lead model home openings and coordinate merchandising efforts with designers
- Manage and maintain social media platforms and digital presence
- Oversee production of print and digital marketing materials to ensure brand alignment
- Plan and coordinate community events in partnership with the sales team
- Manage marketing assets by community, including renderings, signage, and collateral
- Oversee community entrances, amenities, and open spaces to maintain a strong sense of arrival
- Develop and manage community-level advertising plans and budgets
General Sales Manager Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in residential real estate sales and marketing
- Background in branding, advertising, and digital or print marketing execution
- Working knowledge of residential construction and homebuilding operations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and multiple priorities
- Experience with social media and website management
- Ability to work independently while remaining highly organized and accountable
- Demonstrated success in negotiating customer outcomes and resolving issues professionally
