The VP of Operations will also be instrumental in fostering an efficient organizational structure for the division, ensuring its financial health, and fostering a work culture that prioritizes both employee and customer satisfaction.

Corporate Vice President of Operations Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CEO and President to craft a strategic business plan for the company.
  • Formulate an annual operating budget for the company.
  • Oversee the execution of the business plan, focusing on land acquisition, profit margins, market share, construction quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead operations in construction, purchasing, warranty, and design. Oversee land development post-entitlement and manage the budget for all NCSWF projects.
  • Ensure timely deliveries of high-quality homes.
  • Coordinate initial support from the corporate office, including marketing, accounting, finance, and purchasing systems.
  • Design an efficient organizational structure for the division.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and advocate for continual improvement.
  • Establish quarterly objectives and conduct performance reviews for division staff.
  • Determine compensation structures in collaboration with VPHR.
  • Uphold the division’s financial health in partnership with the President.
  • Recruit, train, and lead managers ensuring alignment with the company’s ethos and objectives.
  • Cultivate a work environment that promotes employee and customer satisfaction.
  • Build strong relationships with peers in home-building, development, and related industries.
  • Represent the company in local community and industry events, promoting positive public relations.

Corporate Vice President of Operations Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in a managerial role with a high-volume homebuilder.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience with a production homebuilder.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities; proven track record of inspiring and guiding diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, suitable for all organizational levels.
  • Proven expertise in driving operational excellence and achieving results.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and excel under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, BuildPro, and other pertinent software.
  • Prior formal OSHA training is an advantage.
  • Solid organizational, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
