A fast-growing private homebuilder in Chicago is in search of an Operations Coordinator. The Ops Coordinator is integral in ensuring that the field construction operations are set up for success, run smoothly and contribute to driving the achievement of the business overall. An excellent Coordinator is, above all, an organized and competent entry-level professional with solid communication and decision-making skills and the ability to be self-directed and solve problems.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable relating with people and able to carry out routine administrative duties plus managing and balancing multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment. The overall goal is to ensure that the construction of our projects starts on time and can be
executed without hesitation.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HOMEBUILDING OPERATIONS COORDINATOR:
- Facilitate all aspects of the construction preparation phase of each project from the time the Pre Construction Services agreement is signed to the time the building permit is issued and construction begins. This includes project permitting, bidding and purchase order creation, material takeoff and order creation, and site preparation.
- Utilize BuilderTrend software portal to drive the construction preparation process and ensure that the perfect start is accomplished for every project
- Create and follow office workflow procedures to ensure maximum efficiency
- Maintain files and records with effective electronic filing systems
- Create periodic reports for other team members
- Keep general office area clean and organized
- Continue to create, improve and follow systems and processes for all company operations
- Assist co-workers in other areas of the company in any function at any time
QUALIFICATIONS FOR HOMEBUILDING OPERATIONS COORDINATOR:
- Culture fit with the existing team
- Basic knowledge of residential construction and/or general project management
- Basic experience in customer service
- Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of office equipment (e.g. optical scanner, printers)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Reliable with patience and professionalism
- Ability to work full time with occasional weekend hours
