We are seeking a talented Design Coordinator to join our client’s design and homebuilding operation in Charlotte, NC.  For this position, we are looking for design professionals that will assist home buyers with their interior and exterior colors and design options.  The Design Coordinator provides direct support to the sales and construction departments by assisting with managing the color and design selections for the division.

This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and enhancing the overall experience for the homebuyers.  A primary objective of this position is to develop and maintain strong vendor/client relations and to ensure the objectives of selling homes and options.

PRIMARY DESIGN COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as the key point of contact for design/color options involving internal, cross-functional teams
  • As necessary, coordinates with applicable vendors/subcontractors, as it related to the design functions and producing the overall package (i.e. architect, designer, flooring company)
  • Meets with homebuyers to assist in the sale of option selections, while promoting the upgrade options
  • Assists purchasing with compiling and executing start package documentation
  • Meets with the marketing team and designers to discuss model homes
  • Assists with the model homes and sales center packages
  • Assists the Marketing and Purchasing Departments with the development of all finish color packages for the community
  • Attends required meetings as it pertains to the design functions
  • Assists with the design of spec homes, as needed
  • Assists with setting retail pricing for options
  • Assists with the maintenance and input of option descriptions and pricing within CRM system and Pro Software / PS Client
  • Maintains, updates and orders product for model home design centers
  • Coordinates vendor educational meetings as needed with the sales team

DESIGN COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, design or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in design, preferably within homebuilding industry
  • Experience in all aspects of coordinating product and design strategies to meet organizational objectives
  • A strong work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing and directing the work of other designers
  • A background in high-end production custom homes would be ideal
