We are seeking an experienced Division Controller for a leading upscale homebuilder in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.  Experience with a high volume builder is preferred as the builder is among the largest in the market and growing fast.  Local and non-local candidates with homebuilding experience will get immediate consideration.

DIVISION CONTROLLER OBJECTIVES:
- To support the Vice President of Finance in providing financial management expertise to the operating division as well as to the corporate financial organization
- Ensure that accounting, control, audit and administrative duties are performed effectively and efficiently
- Ensure that financial information is accurately developed, analyzed and reported to management
- Ensure forecasts, project budgets and division budgets are prepared timely and accurately
- Support Contract and Closing process including responsibility for contract review and closing documents for customer transactions as well as land purchases
- Manage, motivate and develop Financial and Administrative staff
- Ensure that corporate financial policies and procedures are adhered to
- Ensure that all corporate and operational reports are submitted accurately and timely
- Assists in the management of information system issues and concerns
- Provide financial assistance to all functional areas as needed
- Responsible for accuracy of financial reports for assigned entities and subsidiaries
QUALIFICATIONS FOR DIVISION CONTROLLER: Â
- 2+ years prior public accounting experience
- Familiarity or prior experience with production homebuilder and related software
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA, active CPA candidacy acceptable
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Seven years experience in Finance/Accounting
- Accounting experience, preferably in the homebuilding, land development and/or construction industry
- Experience with finance and accounting systems and software
- Knowledge of cost accounting (specifically construction industry)
- Prior experience managing and training accounting/finance personnel
- Computer literacy, including excellent Excel skills
